It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Agustin Rodriguez on April 11, 2026. The beloved husband of Bertila Rodriguez; devoted father of Marco, Yoana, Jackelin and Marvin Rodriguez; Loving brother of Saul, Hipolito, Jose Isabel, Abraham, Wilfrido, Maria, Severino, Carmen (deceased), Rosa, Hilda, Arely, Lorenzo, Reyna and Domingo (deceased) Rodrguez. Cherished Grandfather of Alexander, Raylon, Madison Rodriguez, Selena Desouza and Javier Escobar-Rodriguez. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who so loved our beloved Agustin.

Agustin Rodriguez was born and raised in El Salvador, a place he always carried in his heart and spoke about with deep love. He often shared stories of his childhood in the countryside—climbing trees for fruit, long walks to school each day, helping his family with daily chores, and finding joy in life's simple moments. As the second-born child, he naturally took on the role of caregiver for his younger siblings, a responsibility that shaped his lifelong devotion to family. He also lived through the hardships of the Salvadoran civil war, experiences that strengthened his resilience and determination.

When he came to the United States, he continued to work tirelessly to support his family and help begin their journey to America. After escaping the civil war, he eventually met his first wife, Sandra, and became a father to his first son, Marco Rodriguez. He spent time traveling across the country and lived for several years in North Carolina before eventually settling in Maryland.

He worked in construction, a career he took great pride in and truly loved. Through his work, he helped build some of the most recognizable structures in the country, including the stadiums of the Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Commanders, as well as contributing to the rebuilding of the Pentagon after September 11th. His work was not just a job—it was part of the legacy he physically left behind in the country he worked so hard to build a life in.

In Maryland, he met the love of his life, Bertila Rodríguez, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family, raising three children: Yoana, Jackelin, and Marvin Rodriguez.

He was also a loving and proud grandfather who deeply cherished his grandchildren. They were a source of joy in his life, and he found happiness in their presence, their laughter, and their growth. He left them with the same love, strength, and guidance he gave his children, and his presence in their lives will always be remembered.

He was a man defined by hard work and perseverance. He worked faithfully until the very end of his illness, always putting his family first. He was a devoted father who was present, supportive, and deeply involved in the lives of his children, as well as his extended family, including siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Beyond his work ethic, he was full of life. He loved to travel and made sure his family experienced new places together, often planning at least one trip each year, and sometimes more. He had a gift for humor and could always make people laugh, lightening any room he entered. He was a natural planner and goal-setter, someone who dreamed big and worked relentlessly to achieve those dreams.

Despite a difficult childhood marked by hardship and alcoholism he made a conscious choice to live differently. He chose discipline, responsibility, and purpose. He built a life rooted in stability and success. Through determination and sacrifice, he created a better future for his children and built the American dream he had always envisioned.

He was, in every sense, an extraordinary man—loving, strong, funny, and endlessly devoted to his family. His legacy will continue through the lives he shaped and the love he left behind.

His journey on earth has ended, but his love remains--lasting light in the lives he touched, forever remembered, forever cherished.
